Saving energy and reducing CO2 emissions are a priority for worldwide refrigeration, A/C and heating products manufacturer Danfoss. As part of its sustainable and innovation developments, Danfoss wanted to analyse, using CFD simulations, the impact of an Intermediate Port Discharge (IPD) on limiting condensation in scroll compressors.  Having worked successfully with Danfoss on previous internal flow projects, Renuda proposed, implemented, and validated a simplified approach which makes it possible to examine IPDs on different compressor types whilst avoiding complex and costly simulations.
